Special Pieces

Unique items are special customer orders or LARP weapons that we always wanted to try. In the LARP individual pieces we also worked with elaborate molds to achieve a special look and integrate electronics for special effects. Here LARP weapons become unique LARP items, which not only convince with their quality, but distinguish themselves also by their creativeness. Unique LARP items are an area where we can demonstrate all of our craftsmanship and where we always want to be at the forefront of technical and creative solutions.

Unique LARP Items

Construction Data of unique LARP items

For unique pieces we usually use a plastic board or body as the core base. On this, the handle and arm straps are screwed. The core is then covered with foam from both sides. The foam used has the designation PZ 45. Latex is painted, spotted or sprayed depending on the area of the item to make forged, ground or other surfaces. This gives the surfaces a more realistic look. It does not look like it's just sprayed by a spray can. Afterwards, the shield gets its finish by sophisticated airbrush technique and finally a sealing.

In protruding parts, 16mm rods are used, which minimize swinging. At the ends of the rods, a foam cap is attached. So the safety is increased against penetration of the rod through the foam. Protruding areas of the upholstery weapon, which are in danger of tearing due to their shape and the resulting stress, are additionally provided with leather as a strain relief. Depending on the model, leather is also used against lateral distortion.

Materials

We use either a 8x10 mm rod for swords up to 120 cm in our LARP weapons. 12x10 mm rods are used for swords up to 160 cm. Swords up to 190 cm use a 15x15 mm rod. This minimizes swinging and bouncing of the sword. At the top of the rod, a foam cap and all-round protection against tearing is applied. So the security against penetration of the rod through the foam is guaranteed.

The foam used for our larp weapons has the name PZ 45. The pommels are created on the lathe and thus get their three-dimensional appearance. Then the pommel is flanged with glue on the rod. The crossguards have leather in the entire shape and a plastic inlay. As a result, they do not break and are dimensionally stable.

Finally, the LARP weapon gets its finish through sophisticated airbrush technique and finally a sealing. This is how we create unique pieces.

Important Information

Our LARP weapons are reinforced with fabric and leather in all particularly stressed areas, sometimes several times. This not only serves the durability of our products, it is mainly intended to protect the players from injury. Here it is essential to note that our products are built only for combat simulation. We assume no liability for incorrect handling. Also, after purchase the owner of our products is responsible for checking this product for damage before each simulation. A defective product is not safe and therefore must not be used. Stabbing or beating on sensitive parts of the body is also not allowed with our products. Our products are not built to carry out violence in any form.

Important are the fun and the love of the hobby.

Special Designs with Special Looks and Effects

The polearm weapons pictured here are examples of what we may create in the field of unique pieces. They should also serve as a suggestion to develop your own idea. Maybe we can build your special weapon. It is also possible to build in LEDs, operated via a switch and powered by batteries, or even very small details that are reinforced with cloth and much more. Just ask us whether your ideas are realizable.

Demon Staff Lava

Here LEDs were installed. These are embedded in such a way that they are not damaged by blows. There is a switch in the grip area. As always, every detail has been lovingly created by hand -from the shaping of the foam and the latexing to the airbrush.

The weapon’s length is about 200 cm.

Druid Shield (Customer Order)

Here is a customer order from the category unique LARP items. In the middle is a 12x10 core rod, which also serves as a handle under the "dome". The "dome" in the middle is the area where the crystals grow and is not made by a hollowed-out foam ball, but with the commonly used foam, which is brought into this shape by a deep-drawing process. Then every single crystal was glued on. The front is made entirely of latex casts. For this purpose, a piece of old bark was elaborately prepared and sealed to make a silicone impression of it.

The result is unfortunately not so clear on the pictures, but after the airbrush the surface is almost indistinguishable from real bark. On the back the same principle was used, just with the optics from the bark’s underside. Through triple airbrushing this single piece gets extra depth and fine tuning. The look was rounded off with moss from model railway accessories.

Round Shield Northman (Customer Order)

Here is a customer order from the category unique LARP items. In the middle is a 12x10 core rod, which also serves as a handle under the "steel dome". The "steel dome" in the middle is not made by a hollowed-out foam ball, but with the commonly used foam, which is brought into this shape by a deep-drawing process. The front is created with elaborate soldering work, which becomes something very special because of the love for the details. The colored surfaces are applied in a way that it looks like a painted surface just as in the real archeological finds. For this, the dyed latex in each color was applied separately in several layers.

The back was created by two-tone latex applied and a retraction process, forming a realistic wood look. The surface is not smooth, but shows the structure given by the grain, which you can also feel when you run your fingers across it. By triple airbrushing this single piece gets extra depth.

The maximum size of these round shields is 100 cm. Any diameter smaller than this may be chosen as desired.

Shield size: diameter: 80 cm
